* The Emergency Department Administration Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, timely emergency administrative care by providing high quality administrative and customer service support in a fast paced clinical environment.
* Working as part of a dedicated Emergency Department administration team, the role collaborates closely with clinicians and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and positive experiences for patients and families. Through accurate registration, admissions, effective communication, and the respectful handling of sensitive information, this position contributes directly to patient centred care while developing a broad range of administrative and organisational skills across a 24 hour, seven day service.
* You will be required to work a set rotating roster comprising of morning, afternoons, and night shifts. This is a compulsory requirement of the role.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Are You the Right Fit?
* Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering high quality, respectful customer service in a fast paced, patient focused environment.
* Ideally you would have completed a Business Administration course or have extensive administrative experience.
* Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, families, clinicians, and colleagues, both in person and over the phone.
* Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities accurately while working under pressure.
* Prior administrative experience with a strong computer and data entry skills, with the ability to use hospital or administrative information systems effectively.
* Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team while also showing initiative and the ability to work independently.
* Is adaptable, reliable, and be available to work a 24 hour, seven day rotating roster within a busy Emergency Department. This is not negotiable.

1. Describe a time you provided high quality customer service in a busy or high pressure environment. How did you communicate effectively with a range of people, and what steps did you take to remain professional and accurate while managing competing priorities?
2. This role requires prior experience in accurate data entry, advanced communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work confidently with administrative or hospital information systems and always observing confidentiality and privacy. Please outline your experience using computerised systems to register information, manage records and process transactions, prior administration experience and skills, attention to detail.
3. Willingness to work a 24 hour, seven day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
