In this role, you'll:
Working as part of a team responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance and fault response across Sydney Trains' signalling network, you will lead a skilled work group based at Lawson and play a key role in ensuring the ongoing performance of critical rail infrastructure. The role includes participation in an on-call roster to support after-hours fault response and network reliability.
With a strong focus on safety, team leadership, and technical excellence, you will plan and prioritise daily maintenance activities, respond to signalling faults, and ensure all work is delivered to required operational and engineering standards. You'll use SAP to manage work orders, labour costing, and defect reporting, and contribute to building the capability and performance of your team.
You will coordinate and participate in routine inspections, preventative maintenance, emergency fault response, and minor project works to ensure signalling assets are maintained and returned to service safely and efficiently. You'll motivate and guide your team, provide technical support, and help drive improvements in work practices and outcomes. Working closely with your Team Leader, you'll support strong communication, collaboration, and safety compliance across all activities.

About you
You bring a blend of technical expertise, practical leadership, and a strong safety mindset shaped through experience in electrical signalling, infrastructure maintenance, or rail operations.
You're confident working under pressure, adept at diagnosing faults, and proficient in using digital systems like SAP to manage work orders, reporting, and day-to-day workflow.
As a qualified Signals Electrician licensed to work on the Sydney Trains network, you have a thorough understanding of signalling assets and safe working procedures.
You're experienced in guiding teams, resolving operational challenges, and delivering reliable outcomes in field environments.
Experience in fault response is an advantage, and you're willing to obtain Protection Officer certification.
A valid NSW Class C driver's licence is also required.
