Your role at St John of God Murdoch As the Deputy Director of Nursing Clinical Safety and Quality you will provide professional and operational leadership of the Directorate, coordinating and supporting quality improvement and risk management, accreditation and licensing processes. The Position Actively contribute to, and promote the development of the Hospital's goals, objectives, policies and standards. Provide clinical leadership in order to establish and maintain the highest standards of nursing practice in a patient focused environment. Develop, implement and evaluate quality programs and provide leadership and professional expertise to ensure nursing care is monitored against best practice standards. Actively participate in all relevant clinical and non-clinical committees within and externally to the hospital. Monitor compliance with clinical practice standards and initiates corrective action as required. Monitor and evaluate the annual hospital wide quality improvement program and ensure the program is consistent with accreditation requirements, best practice and industry standards. Ensure that caregivers have an understanding of the quality improvement process. Coordinate hospital accreditation processes for the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Coordinate hospital Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS) processes. Coordinate the Department of Health, Licensing and Accreditation Regulatory Unit (LARU) processes. Monitor the Hospital-Wide Risk Register. Manage the Clinical Audit and Clinical Indicator Program including the analysis and reporting of results and coordination of action plans to improve performance. Maintain the hospitals legislative compliance register. Assist in the provision of leadership and direction in the implementation and review of quality and clinical risk management programs. Raise OHS issues with appropriate caregivers and take part in OHS consultative arrangements. Promote and facilitate strong working relationships between the Nursing Division and accredited visiting medical practitioners. Lead, chair and participate in relevant committees and working groups, by providing relevant data information and reports to enable performance evaluation and the identification of improvement activities and projects. Work in conjunction with the Deputy Director Medical Services to ensure PERFORM is embedded in medical areas and extends to remainder of Hospital as able. Oversee and assist the timely preparation of annual capital and operating budgets for the nursing directorate and ensures that financial and productivity targets are met. You will hold strong leadership skills in the development and implementation of risk management systems and processes whilst building strong working relationships with nursing teams, medical practitioners and other key stakeholders. With high level conceptual and analytical skills in addition to advanced oral and written communication ability, you will foster a positive service orientated culture that encourages sound patient care and stewardship, focusing on innovation and productivity improvements. Senior management experience and leadership in an acute hospital facility is essential for the role to achieve and maintain National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards Accreditation and Department of Health Licensing. To succeed you hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse with post graduate qualifications in Nursing, Management or relevant discipline.
