We're now seeking two Therapy Assistants to join our Community Services team at Marion, on a Full-Time basis and a Part-Time (0.8) basis. In this rewarding role, you'll provide direct care to clients as directed by our Therapists.
Responsibilities:
* Assist clients as directed by the Therapists, including; Accompanying on walks, Supervising and assisting with prepared meals, Preparing clients for consultation with Therapists, One-to-one interaction which will give stimulation – physical, mental, social
* Perform regular stock control or checks of supplies
* Maintain confidentiality and privacy of client according to Resthaven guidelines
* Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with clients and their families
* Promote Resthaven's services in the community as determined in conjunction with the Therapists
* Give direct feedback to Therapists of relevant information relating to clients
Essential Criteria:
* Understanding of the ageing process and caring for older clients
* Demonstrated ability to relate to a diverse group of people including clients, other staff, and family members
* Empathy and understanding of issues for older people, their families, and carers
* Experience working in social groups or exercise groups
* Time management skills
* Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
* An SA Driver's License
* Cert III in Allied Health Assistance (desirable)
