Job Description The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of clinical programs within Health and Medical Services. The position provides leadership to health professionals in the delivery of high-level professional services. The position is responsive to government initiatives, research, bodies of knowledge and health information, and provides expert advice at both strategic and operational levels. Key responsibilities include: Provide leadership and management to health professionals within Health and Medical Services. Manage the provision of efficient and effective clinical and nursing services, across all practice locations, which underpin the delivery of high-quality healthcare to clients. Ensure that all activities are compliant with the RACGP accreditation standards for General Practice, University and other relevant regulatory requirements, as well as those of relevant external health service providers. Under the direction of the Senior Clinical Nurse provide health assessment and treatment of illness and injury incurred by students, staff and visitors. Assist visiting doctors and other health professionals with relevant client care and ongoing treatment. Maintain appropriate and accurate electronic attendance records, confidential reports and health and medical services statistics using medical software supplied. Provide general support to staff in Student Life in dealing with clients with all health-related issues. Develop and enhance appropriate health referral networks on and off campus. Provide primary health care, including information on health issues pertinent to the client population and University community generally. Including displays, handouts, seminars, workshops and other activities. About you Registration as a General Nurse with AHPRA. The occupant of this position to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B. What we can offer This is a casual opportunity primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. The casual hourly rate is $66.79 per hour (HEW level 7 Step 1), plus 17% superannuation.
