Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) is Victoria's modern, community-focused fire and rescue service, dedicated to protecting life and property across Victoria. We deliver service excellence through prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, working in partnership with government, communities, and sector stakeholders to enhance public safety outcomes. With 85 fire stations and a dedicated team of over 4,000 professionals, FRV delivers rapid, expert responses to fires, complex rescues, medical emergencies and hazardous incidents. About the role
Dedicated to the provision of strategic advice to the Commissioner's office, this role focuses on enterprise-wide service planning, policy, and sector wide matters to drive performance uplift and participates in shaping sector wide reform.
Fostering strong and constructive relationships across government, emergency services partners, and stakeholders, you will monitor emerging risks and opportunities, providing timely, strategic guidance.
Leading with integrity and resilience, you will be pivotal in overseeing preparation of high-quality briefings, reports, and correspondence to support executive decision-making and ministerial engagement.
About you
Experienced in navigating political and organisational complexity, you have proven sound judgment in high-stakes, high-pressure environments. With a deep understanding of the Victorian public sector, government priorities, and emergency management principles, you will translate strategic plans into tangible outcomes. Your ability to align initiatives with broader objectives ensures you lead strategic policy development and reform, positively influencing outcomes across government and the emergency services sector.
Possessing exceptional engagement and relationship management skills, you will have a demonstrated track record of building trust and credibility at senior levels across government, agencies and significant stakeholders. With a Masters in Business or equivalent and ability to prepare and present complex information clearly and persuasively, this rounds out the skills and experience needed to be successful in this role.
