About the Team
Based out of our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE), the RDA Operations team consists of a number of experienced and talented individuals, striving to achieve business goals in relation to improving Australia's Defence capability. The successful candidate will enjoy a collaborative team environment that is committed to continuous improvement, while working with cutting-edge technologies.
About the Role
The Production Engineer, will work as an integral part of the operations team and will take responsibility for:
* Development and documentation of all production process and activities (i.e. Welding, assembly, lining, etc.);
* Development and maintenance of the Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI);
* Maintaining our MRP System (SAP) to effectively manage the Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure correct material allocation to relevant teams;
* Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including (but not limited to) Production; Configuration; Quality; and Engineering;
* Define the layout of the various assembly lines including material delivery points, racking, assembly equipment and specialist tooling;
* Provide technical support for manufacturing process definition, process tuning and troubleshooting; and
* Support Operations during production ramp up with commissioning of the facility and implementation of relevant assembly processes.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process) or relevant discipline;
* Experience in Lean and process improvement manufacturing tools and techniques, preferably from similar industry;
* Experience in working with ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP) to create PBOM's, routings, standard networks, etc.;
* Experience in Root Cause Analysis, including methodologies such as Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis;
* Advanced skills in MS Excel; and
* Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
