Experienced Community Dietitian required for a publicly funded service in the Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities
Manage dietetic caseload in four remote Aboriginal communities in the Big Rivers Region.
Provide paediatric and adult dietetic support – growth support, malnutrition, type 2 diabetes and general metabolic conditions.
Deliver individual, family and occasional group sessions.
Stakeholder education and update resources in remote clinics.
Assist the Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian(s) with Market Basket Surveys in remote stores.
Manage case-management tasks across the allied health team.
Travel to and stay overnight in remote communities (by 4WD or light aircraft); trips are one-day, one-night or two-night, never on Fridays, maximum two communities per week.
Qualifications & Requirements
Community dietitian with experience in paediatric and adult care.
Strong case-management and community-education skills.
Comfortable with small planes, driving and overnight travel.
Eligibility for APD status; overseas-trained candidates must be assessed before applying.
Details
Start: 13th January for three months. No trips on Fridays; maximum two different communities per week. Ample administrative time provided.
Locum rates: up to $75 per hour plus super (based on experience).
Travel reimbursement: up to $****. Free accommodation and car available for occasional local use.
Supportive and social team; weekends enjoyed outdoors in gorges, waterfalls, camping and hikes.
