Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our growing team on an ongoing full-time basis.
About the Role
As Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable for delivering high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred emergency mental health care while ensuring strong governance, financial oversight and workforce leadership.
You will lead recovery-oriented practice, consumer participation and continuous improvement across clinical, operational and strategic domains.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Professional Leadership
* Provide advanced nursing leadership and model best practice
* Drive recovery-focused, evidence-based care
* Ensure high standards in assessment, care planning and treatment
* Promote reduction of restrictive practices
* Foster culturally safe and inclusive service delivery
Governance, Quality & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
* Lead accreditation and quality improvement initiatives
* Oversee KPI performance, data reporting and audits
* Uphold NSQHS and mental health standards
* Manage risk, incident reporting and OHS governance
Operational & Financial Management
* Manage budgets, targets and resource allocation
* Coordinate patient flow and service reviews
* Lead strategic planning and project initiatives
* Ensure effective complaint resolution processes
Workforce Leadership
* Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams
* Oversee recruitment, rostering and performance management
* Ensure mandatory training and professional development compliance
* Promote a culture of integrity, accountability and collaboration

About you
You are a confident and capable mental health nurse leader who brings:
* Division 1 Registration with AHPRA and post-basic psychiatric qualification
* Minimum 5 years' clinical experience
* Demonstrated success in team leadership and staff development
* Strong financial, reporting and data analysis capability
* High-level decision-making and change management skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and standards
* Commitment to recovery frameworks and safe inpatient care
Postgraduate management qualifications, project management and change management experience are highly regarded.
