The Watson family operates 3 certified Biodynamic/ Organic farms and one Jersey Milk conventional farm in the beautiful iconic southern Atherton Tablelands.
The milk from these farms and 5 other small local farms supplies the Mungalli Creek Dairy on-farm processing facility and is made into our award winning milk, yoghurts, cream, cheese and ice-cream under the Mungalli Creek Dairy or Misty Mountains brand.
This brand has been established for over 25 years and is expanding into more markets as demand grows.

About the role
This is a long term role suitable for an experienced and motivated Dairy Farm Manager. A salary package including a 3 bedroom house, super and additional benefits will be provided.
Located at Horse Shoe Bend near Ravenshoe, you will be working on a newly acquired farm that will be in the process of converting to Biodynamics, commencing with a small herd of 130 Jersey cows, which you will help grow to 200 cows by the end of 2027.
The roster is currently 11 days on/3 days off - with responsibilities for herd management, calf raising, milking and production volumes, pasture management, AI and breeding programs, shed and milk hygiene, relief staff, machinery, fencing, pasture and tractor work.

Skills and Experience
Applicants would ideally have a minimum of 4-5 years Dairy farming experience, with prior Management or 2IC experience and be able to maintain good herd health and increase milk production whilst looking after all aspects of the dairy herd including:
Milking, dairy shed hygiene, herd health
Calving and Calf rearing and livestock and dry cow management
Stock movement and general farm duties
Pasture Management
Farm Management and Relief Staff
Inventory and Consumables
Assisting with planting winter and summer pastures
Farm Planning, Budgets and Reports
Personal attributes
A love of dairying, strong work ethic, flexible and adaptable
Respectful and takes good care of people, animals, farm equipment and machinery
High standard of workplace hygiene and follows WHS protocols
An interest in sustainable and regenerative farming
Enjoys contributing to and working in a team environment
Accurately follows systems and procedures
Ability to do early morning and afternoon shifts
Available for weekday and weekend rosters
Our Farms are located in a stunning part of North Queensland surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest and Waterfalls.
