Overview
Join a dedicated team at Bowral Hospital where you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care, maintaining safety, and contributing to a secure and well‐functioning hospital environment.
Responsibilities
* Support patient care delivery – Assist nursing staff with patient comfort, mobility, pre‐operative preparation, and reporting observations to ensure high‐quality care.
* Provide safe patient transport – Porter patients across the facility for ward transfers, appointments, and procedures, supporting efficient bed flow and access to services.
* Maintain ward and facility operations – Contribute to smooth ward functioning by moving equipment, making unoccupied beds, supporting cleaning tasks, and adhering to manual handling and infection control standards.
* Respond to security and emergency situations – Assist with de‐escalation or restraint when required, conduct internal and external patrols, monitor CCTV, and support responses to all emergency codes.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team – Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, contribute to a positive team environment, and uphold professionalism in high‐pressure or challenging situations.
Qualifications
* Current NSW Class 1A Security License.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Australian C‐Class driver's licence (including P1 or P2).
* Strong situational awareness, ability to conduct patrols and monitor security systems.
* Experience in a fast‐paced hospital environment, with professionalism and a commitment to patient care and security operations.
* Ability to work a 7‐day rotating roster, covering mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and public holidays.
Selection Criteria
* Describe a situation where you managed a challenging or high‐risk interaction, including conflict resolution, de‐escalation, safe restraint practices, and ensuring safety for all.
* Provide an example of following strict procedures while working as part of a multidisciplinary team, covering manual handling, infection control, electronic security systems, and communication.
* Demonstrate ability to follow safety and security protocols reliably and adaptively in a busy 24/7 hospital environment.
