About the Role

As a support worker, you will be supporting people with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, assistance in the community and being a companion. This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

* Support clients with personal cares, assistance with mobility and prompting with medication
* Support clients to achieve their goals and make choices in partnership with other support networks
* Promote customer choice, positive routines and activities ensuring they are meaningful to the customer


Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

* Providing support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry
* Assisting clients with personal cares, including bathing, dressing and grooming
* Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
* Supporting clients to achieve their goals and make choices in partnership with other support networks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (essential)
* Current and valid Driver's Licence and insured, reliable motor vehicle
* Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
* Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
* Proficiency in use of technology such as smartphones, email and internet
* A desire to join an organisation committed to the care of others
