G.James Safety Glass NSW Operations delivers exceptional sales, customer service, and manufacturing across a wide range of laminated, toughened, insulated, decorative, and painted glass products. Our large‑scale Smithfield (Sydney) production centre supports the building & construction, automotive, marine, rolling stock, and security industries.
The Role
* Lead the team through strong and clear communication and DIFOT performance.
* Proactively manage glass and transport safety requirements including CoR, BFM, loading, restraint and fleet maintenance.
* Build and maintain respectful and effective working relationships with our customers and with internal sales and production teams.
* Identify, implement, drive and motivate continuous improvement.
* Showcase your troubleshooting and resolution capabilities.
* Loading / unloading trucks, sorting glass in routes.
* Undertaking deliveries when required.
About You
* Proven leadership experience in despatch/logistics within a glass manufacturing environment preferred.
* Experience with managing an internal fleet of trucks and drivers. Not managing 3PL.
* Exceptional communication skills with high levels of organisational, planning and attention to detail.
* Excellent time management and ability to multi‑task.
* Demonstrated ability to lead by example and meet agreed KPIs.
* Strong commitment to safety.
* Dynamic thinker who strives for excellence.
* Hold a current forklift license.
* Current vehicle license – MR or HR license preferred.
* Overhead crane experience preferred.
