As a Traffic Management Operator, you will be the first point of contact for both stakeholders of the
traffic management centre and the public. This is an essential role to help keep Queensland’s roads
moving.
You will be responding to traffic incidents and coordinating responses to resolve issues. If you
have the right mix of experience and attributes for this role, you will be provided with training and
support to make this a long term, rewarding career.
About your new role :
This is an opportunity to work with state of the art systems and a great team based on the Gold Coast.
Liaising with emergency personnel (including police and ambulance service), contractors, members of
the public to ensure the effective, efficient and safe operation of the state-controlled road network.
* Coordinating responses to traffic incidents, calls, signal failures and maintenance issues
* Implementing incident management procedures to assist with the coordination of traffic diversion
* Using the CCTV network, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to monitor the road networks
* Broadcasting regular traffic information and updates
* Completing incident and event reports.

Hours of work, remuneration and benefits :
The QLD State-wide Traffic Management Centre (STMC) operates 24-hours a day / 365 days a year
supporting travellers on the Queensland state-controlled road network. This is a casual position with
varying shifts each week. Shift lengths vary from 4 to 12 hours in length and between 3-5 shifts per week
number of shifts / hours is not guaranteed).
