PRIMARY DETAIL

Level 6 from $99,161 to $109,457per annum prorated for 40% part time, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. Part-time (14 hours / 2 days per week / 0.4 FTE), fixed term role for 12 months Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is currently seeking an enthusiastic and well organised Administration Officer to join our administrative team. Reporting to the School Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide high level administrative, finance and project support for the Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub.

About You

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding organisational skills and the ability to show initiative. You will operate both autonomously and within the team environment, applying sound judgement to solve issues and prevent their reoccurrence. Your ability to respond effectively to competing demands and tight timeframes and form effective and collegial relationships with your network of peers, will be key to your success in this role within a complex, fast paced professional administrative team environment.

Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub provides expertise and leadership in cyber security across technology, governance, policy and human factors, while also offering a platform for meaningful exchange between academics and practitioners from business and government. Its work spans multiple disciplines—computing, engineering, business, criminology, law and psychology—to support cross‐cutting research initiatives. In addition, the Hub is committed to training the next generation of cyber security specialists, raising awareness among current leaders, and upskilling the existing workforce. It also contributes to the development of commercial technology solutions that address emerging cyber security challenges.

A degree in business, finance or a related discipline and relevant experienceDemonstrated knowledge of and experience in working in a complex administrative environment, preferably within Higher EducationDemonstrated knowledge of finance and budgeting principles and practices with experience in budget administration, analysing data and/or working with systems and reportingExperience undertaking transactional administrative activities including supporting purchasing, invoice payments and reimbursements in line with University policiesExperience providing general administrative support, including facilities management, office and IT equipment management and enquiriesExperience providing event coordination and administrationExperience with Executive calendar/diary management and meeting organisationDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing administrative process improvementStrong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholdersDemonstrated time management and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver on competing deadlinesDemonstrated ability to exercise judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information and data
