Logistics Supervisor - Country QLD - Concrete and Aggregates
Location: Mount Louisa, Townsville. Opportunity to contribute within Holcim, a leading sustainable building materials company.
Opportunity
Based out of Townsville, you will be responsible for the effective supervision of Country Queensland Concrete and Aggregates Logistics resources in the area, ensuring they are utilized to optimise safety, financial and operational results. You will provide advice and feedback on transport operational issues to the Regional Logistics Managers for Concrete and Aggregates; maintain a safe system of work in the workplace and work with the Logistics, Operations, and Sales teams to identify the service levels required and to ensure that they are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Operational Improvement Program is implemented, maintained, monitored and improved.
- Actively assist in achieving progressive cost reductions as per annual agreed targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policy (e.g., Workplace Health and Safety Act).
- Maintain working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Queensland transport rules and regulations.
- Coordinate Repairs and Maintenance where applicable to ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with relevant standards and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of community relationships within the local community by assisting with any community relations programs that may be implemented.
- Assist the Regional Logistics Managers in achieving budgeted financial targets.
About You
You are an experienced transport management professional with credible experience of fleet management in related industry environments. Your experience will ideally be in managing both contracted and company owned fleets and you will possess solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing fleet operational performance and capability.
Requirements
As a confident front-line leader with hands on operational experience in truck and fleet scheduling and coordination you lead by example while promoting a zero-harm safety culture with further requirements to include:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, HVNL and Queensland transport rules and regulations
- Solid knowledge of IT systems (SAP, Google preferred) to ensure all reporting and admin tasks are completed in a timely manner and required records are maintained
- Assist with roll out of IVMS and other projects as required.
