Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
Hydra Search have been engaged by a well-known Engineering & Technology company, providing EI&C engineering services for studies and projects operating in the Mining & Resources, Renewables and Commercial Industries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Systems (EI&C), automation, software, and IT solutions across a variety of industries.
* Ensure that designs align with Australian and International Standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for Electrical and Instrumentation systems.
* Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and project teams.
* Support business development activities, including client engagement and proposal preparation.
* Manage project deliverables, budgets, and timelines, ensuring high-quality outcomes are achieved.
* Collaborate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and optimize engineering solutions.
* Prepare, review, and approve detailed technical documentation, including specifications, reports, calculations, and drawings, as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovations within company and industry engineering practices.
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
* Post-graduate certification in Engineering or Management is highly desirable.
* CPEng status, Functional Safety Systems Certification, and EEHA Certification are preferred.
* At least 10+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, ideally within the mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
* Experience in study, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, and site construction.
* Extensive knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant International Standards.
* Demonstrated expertise in high-voltage (HV), low-voltage (LV), instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
* Proven experience in design documentation, operation, construction/commissioning, and general engineering of mineral processing or chemical facilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders, and produce high-quality reports and technical documentation.
* Project management experience, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
