1. Direct and oversee the risk management program in collaboration with the corporate risk manager designee.
2. Investigate and analyze actual and potential risks in the facility; assess liability and probability of legal action for potential notification. Implement, educate, and encourage incident reporting throughout the facility.
3. Monitor and analyze program performance data to determine effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with all administrative requirements.
4. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting goals and objectives in accordance with facility policies.
5. Identify high-risk areas that could cause harm to persons receiving services, visitors, and employees. Collaborate with clinical staff and management for prevention of clinical risks.
6. Develop and lead educational activities to enhance understanding and utilization of the Full Disclosure process.
7. Maintain a database of full disclosure activities, oversee review programs, and provide technical support as needed.
8. Manage staff including hiring, development, training, and performance management to ensure effective department operation.
9. Serve as a resource and consultant for risk management activities, performance improvement, policy development, and compliance initiatives.
10. Create and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and employee safety, ensuring adherence to policies regarding patient rights, confidentiality, and full disclosure.

Education, Experience, and Skills
* Bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare field, risk management, business, finance, or related area required.
* Master's degree in health information management, nursing, or related field preferred.
* At least one year of supervisory experience required.
* Experience with CARF, DEA, Joint Commission, or CMS surveys as applicable.
Licenses, Certifications, and Additional Requirements
* Certifications related to healthcare risk management, safety, or process improvement are highly preferred.
* CPR and de-escalation/restraint certifications are required (training provided upon hire).
* First aid certification may be required depending on state or facility policies.

Education
* Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or a related field.
Experience
* Preferred: Bachelor's in healthcare-related fields; Master's preferred; supervisory experience; familiarity with accreditation surveys.
