Job Description
The Grade 3 Senior Occupational Therapist will be a key member of the Occupational Therapist leadership team, responsible for providing high-quality inpatient assessment and intervention. This includes working closely with medical, nursing, and other allied health teams to progress patient care and pathways to home or community settings.
The successful candidate will be identified as a clinical leader and will apply their knowledge, skill, and expertise to develop the clinical practice of individuals and the wider team. They will also contribute strongly to the multidisciplinary team via the provision of high-quality inpatient assessment and intervention.
An important aspect of this senior role is the opportunity to lead various teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service, Allied Health directorate, and clinical program. The successful candidate will also represent Allied Health on allocated committees.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide high-quality inpatient assessment and intervention services to patients requiring occupational therapy input.
* To work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and other allied health teams to progress patient care and pathways to home or community settings.
* To identify opportunities for improving the quality of service delivery and implement changes as required.
* To supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapy staff, Allied Health Assistants, and/or occupational therapy students.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
* A Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent qualification.
* Full Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership).
* Minimum seven years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy.
* Current Victorian Driver's License (unrestricted).

About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position, working 80 hours per fortnight (inclusive of an ADO). Part-time applicants will be considered and welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will be based at The Alfred Hospital, Caulfield Hospital, and Sandringham Hospital, with the possibility of working across all three sites based on clinic service demands.
