Do you want real ownership of a planning‐critical platform?
Our power systems planning portal is a deeply technical ecosystem of integrated applications. It's the "one place" our planners rely on for tools, data and workflows... and you'll be the person who keeps that experience reliable and continuously improving!
You'll join a specialist team of up to 5 people and provide support to graduates and engineers, while working closely with users to translate requirements into practical, high‐quality releases. Just as importantly, you'll help lift capability across the team by sharing your knowledge, guiding graduates and strengthening practices, tooling and governance as the platform evolves.
What Makes This Role Worth Considering
Our Grid Planning Portal is the only platform in Australia handling regional power network planning at this scale. It manages:
* Planning data and reporting for the entire network.
* Customer connection studies – determining how new connections join the grid.
* Major project lifecycle studies – from feasibility to delivery.
* Voltage and loading management plans, sensitivity analysis, state estimation, SCADA data cleaning and more!
You'll have real ownership from architecture through to deployment and support and work closely with internal users to improve usability.
* Microgrids + automation: The environment we plan for is changing fast. The level of automation we build around planning is a big part of what makes this work exciting.
* You'll own the full lifecycle: Architecture/design through to build, deployment and Level 4 support.
* Leading‐edge work: New systems, new features, new integrations. This won't be a "set and forget" role.
* Modern engineering in a power systems context: Full‐stack delivery across React/TypeScript, Python and C#/.NET, backed by strong data foundations.
Your impact in role, if you choose to join us
* Design and deliver new features across a suite of integrated planning applications (from user story to deployment).
* Take ownership of end‐to‐end software delivery: design, build, test, deploy and support what you ship in production.
* Build full‐stack solutions using React (TypeScript), Python and C#/.NET, with strong database foundations (e.g., PostgreSQL/SQL).
* Keep the platform in healthy state: performance, reliability, fixes and tools/models support.
* Work closely with internal users to capture requirements, respond to feedback and continuously uplift planning capability.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an all‐rounder who can write code, support solutions end‐to‐end and engage confidently with stakeholders.
* Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering.
* Advanced full‐stack capability (frontend, APIs, integrations) and strong solution design skills.
* Proven experience delivering production applications end‐to‐end (design → build → test → deploy).
* Proficiency across Python, TypeScript/React, C#, plus exposure to Rust and strong SQL/database skills (e.g., PostgreSQL).
* Ability to translate user needs into practical technical outcomes and communicate clearly.
Ready to be the engineer behind the portal our planners rely on?
Apply now and bring your full‐stack engineering skills to a team shaping the future of power system planning in regional WA.
