Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and supervision to young people, as well as developing and implementing programs and activities that promote learning, fun and personal development.
As a Youth Worker, you will work closely with other staff members to create a safe and supportive environment for all young people. You will also be responsible for addressing and responding to challenging and aggressive behaviour, using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (Employment type)
* Able to meet the psychological suitability and physical fitness deemed appropriate for custodial youth justice duties
Benefits:
* Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 pro rata per annum (paid as hourly rate) + 11.5% Superannuation + 6.5% Correctional Allowance + Shift Work allowances
* Classification: General Stream Band 4
* Location: North – Ashley Youth Detention Centre, Deloraine

This is a fixed-term and relief position, which means you will be working on a temporary basis until the register is reviewed and updated. You will need to undergo training and induction on site prior to your first shift, and be prepared to complete any necessary paperwork and administrative tasks.
