About the Internship
In this dynamic, fast-paced internship, you'll work closely with our Call Centre Manager & Support Manager. At Happy Travels, you will be supported by a team of experts with over 20 years of industry experience & knowledge to help manage our global product range, build relationships with awesome travel suppliers, and support the rollout of new international travel campaigns. You'll be part of a small, high-energy team that loves adventure, creativity, and getting things done.
What You'll Be Doing
* Chat with new leads over messaging apps or on the phone to help them plan and book trips
* Make sure new enquiries get assigned to the right team member so nothing slips through the cracks
* Send out first messages to new leads quickly to keep conversations moving
* Keep an eye on team inboxes and calls, making sure customers get a timely response
* Follow up with leads and keep records up to date so the sales process runs smoothly
* Step in to help finalise bookings when a team member is away, keeping the customer journey seamless
* Provide friendly aftercare and support to customers, answering questions and making sure they're happy after booking
* Be the go-between for customers, sales staff, and suppliers to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes
* Book in staff familiarisation trips with third-party operators
* Answering incoming calls from our 1300 customer support number
* Assisting existing customers with any travel issues
* Assisting existing customers with any changes to their itineraries and travel plans
* Investigating and processing customer refund requests
* Managing online reviews and responding to them
* Investigating and rectifying any agent errors
* Quality auditing
Who We're Looking For
* A travel lover with a passion for youth adventure, backpacking, or cultural exploration
* Strong attention to detail and solid organisational skills
* Comfortable with spreadsheets, websites, or admin systems (we'll show you the ropes)
* Great communicator – both written and verbal
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to learn
* A marketing, tourism, business, or communications student (or recent grad)
