Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee Quality Control activities for our testing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in chemical testing and experience working in a regulated quality environment.
This role involves operational oversight, directing testing activities, providing guidance and supervision, setting goals, and maintaining work processes in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
The successful candidate will lead the testing team to deliver tests on time, investigate out-of-specification results, evaluate testing procedures, and mentor staff to work efficiently and compliantly.
In addition, they will maintain a culture of continuous improvement, identify operational efficiencies, and participate in site audits as Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the testing function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the testing team to achieve timely test delivery
* Manage investigation and resolution of out-of-specification test results
* Evaluate and ensure compliance of testing, training, instrumentation, and procedures with cGMP
* Mentor staff for efficient and compliant work practices
* Drive a proactive continuous improvement culture to identify operational efficiencies and process improvements
* Participate in site audits as SME for the testing function
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or relevant scientific discipline
* 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry with exposure to GMP or regulated quality environment
* 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience
* Background in pharmaceuticals highly valued
* Expertise in chemical testing advantageous
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Excellent communication skills
