Help improve how policing programs are designed, delivered and measured.
NT Police is strengthening how it evaluates programs, monitors performance and uses evidence to improve outcomes for the community. This role sits within the Governance and Strategy Team in the Deputy CEO's Office and works in a small, high-performing Research, Evaluation and Monitoring team.
About the role
This is a hands-on role focused on delivering high-quality program evaluation and supporting evidence-based decision making across NT Police.
You will lead and support evaluations of key strategies and initiatives, working closely with operational areas and partners to design evaluation approaches, gather and analyse data, and translate findings into practical improvements.
Key responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate evaluation activities in line with the NT Government Program Evaluation Framework
* Develop evaluation plans, program logics and data frameworks
* Lead evaluations, including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
* Prepare clear, high-quality reports outlining methods, findings and recommendations
* Provide advice to business areas on research, monitoring and evaluation approaches
* Support data collection activities including surveys, multi-agency data sharing and business insights
* Contribute to building a strong culture of evidence-based decision making
About you
You are a capable and practical evaluator who can work across complex environments and turn data into clear insights.
You will bring:
* Experience in program evaluation, including designing and delivering evaluations
* Strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis
* Clear and confident communication skills, including writing reports and engaging with senior stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Sound judgement and the ability to identify risks and issues early
* Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to interpret and explain data in context
* The ability to work independently, adapt to change and manage sensitive information appropriately
Desirable
* Experience applying evaluation methods in government or service delivery settings
* Experience developing program logics and data matrices
* Skills in Excel or data analysis tools (e.g. SPSS, NVivo, SAS)
* Relevant tertiary qualifications
