Overview
We are seeking Specialist Anaesthetists for a variety of roles based in the Melbourne outer metro area and Regional Victoria.
The Consultant Director of Anaesthetics at Hamilton position is based at the campus of this hospital. Full time or part time positions are considered.
This role has a primary focus on the provision of clinical anaesthetic services, with opportunities to be involved in academic and teaching activities in close association with Deakin University.
The hospital is a fully integrated facility with 282 beds across acute, aged care and mental health services. The Hamilton campus provides acute, rehabilitation and mental health care, along with extensive outpatient and community services.
Locations available include Hamilton, Sale, Gippsland, Bendigo and Werribee Melbourne.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical expertise and excellent service in anaesthesia and peri‐operative medicine, including in‐theatre, acute pain, pre‐admission clinic, delivery suite.
* Deliver peri‐operative anaesthetic and resuscitation care for in‐patients, including birth suite, operating theatres, wards, ICU and the emergency department.
* Participate in the coordination of weekly pre‐anaesthetic outpatient clinics and departmental non‐clinical education and quality assurance activities.
* Provide high quality care both in and after‐hours and actively participate fully in all departmental activities.
* Supervise registrars/provisional trainees, HMOs and interns where appropriate.
* Support the expansion and continuous improvement of the quality of anaesthetic services provided.
* Assist in research projects, quality improvement and teaching.
* Perform management duties associated with the role as appropriate.
Qualifications
* FANZCA or equivalent qualification.
* Current registration with AHPRA and ANZCA.
* High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
* Practical approach to problem solving.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the team.
* Experience in anaesthesia and peri‐operative medicine.
