Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead, manage, and support our team in delivering high-quality services to our participants.


Duties and Responsibilities:

* Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring a coordinated, consistent, and high-quality approach to service delivery.
* Reporting outcomes in line with service agreements and stakeholder requirements.
* Providing clear and detailed mandatory reporting.
* Ensuring timely submission of Progress Notes, Monthly, and Incident reports.
* Supporting floor staff in their day-to-day operations, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with family members and significant others to promote positive outcomes for participants.
* Managing disputes, conflicts, or concerns regarding staff and participants.
* Managing house budgets and ensuring accurate recording of receipts according to MSJ processes.
* Recruiting new staff and facilitating successful onboarding.
* Training new staff and supporting their professional development.
* Creating and managing staff rosters.
* Welcoming new participants and ensuring a smooth transition into our services.
* Maintaining cleanliness standards in all MSJ homes.
* Organizing house meetings to gather feedback from staff on SIL property.
* Covering absence for staff when needed.
* Complying with MSJ policies, procedures, and practices, as well as external funding body requirements and legislation.
* Upholding principles of equity and anti-discrimination in the workplace, adhering to organisational and legislative Health, Safety, and Environment requirements.
* Participating in on-call duties following designated procedures.
* Identifying and addressing risks, hazards, and damages.
* Recognising training needs for staff and implementing relevant programs.
* Monitoring team performance and conducting regular meetings to address areas for improvement.
* Performing ad-hoc tasks as required by direct line management.
* Requirements:
o Tertiary qualification in the Disability Industry or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
o Experience working with Complex Mental health and Behaviours of concern.
o Proven ability to de-escalate high-risk situations.
o Experience in using Proda, Microsoft office apps.
o Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously in carrying out agreed case plans or individual plans for multiple clients simultaneously.
o Proven experience in training and leading multiple teams towards shared goals.
o High level organisation and time management skills, including prioritising work to meet changing demands.
o Strong communication, influencing, liaison, negotiation, and mediation skills.
o Some out-of-office hours may be required (evening and occasional weekend work).
