About the role
Our Electricians carry out repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on Central Coast Council's electrical assets. This includes the installation, upgrade and maintenance of electrical wiring and associated equipment across commercial, residential and industrial building structures.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs across a range of electrical assets
* Perform planned preventative maintenance and inspections to improve reliability and safety
* Install, upgrade and test wiring, switchboards, control equipment and associated electrical components
* Complete electrical testing, tagging and verification in line with relevant standards and legislation
* Read and interpret drawings, manuals and specifications to plan works and troubleshoot issues
* Prepare job documentation (service reports, compliance records, maintenance logs) and update asset information as required
* Liaise with supervisors, other trades, contractors and customers to coordinate works and minimise downtime
* Identify hazards, apply safe work practices, and participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments
Qualifications
* Electrical Trade Certificate
* Current electrical licence
* Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical) as per NSW Fair Trading requirements
* Construction General Induction Card (White Card) – SafeWork NSW or equivalent
* Confined Spaces certification (current) or willingness to obtain
* Current Class C Driver's Licence

A current Certificate IV in renewable energy would be highly regarded.
Compensation
* The commencing salary for this position is up to $73.5K per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $85.2K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation + Industry Allowance
* We have a permanent full‐time role available
* This role will be able to access a 9‐day fortnight
* This role is located at the Long Jetty Depot
