genU is looking for caring and energetic Domestic Services Assistant’s (Cleaner) to provide essential in-home support to older community members, including household cleaning, meal preparation, and general assistance to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment. This role offers structured weekday shifts and the chance to contribute to meaningful outcomes within a values-driven not-for-profit organisation.
We’re currently hiring across North and East Metro Melbourne, with a focus on the Rowville and Croydon areas. Whether you're looking for just a few hours a week or up to 37.5 hours, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
As a Domestic Services Assistant, you’ll help people feel comfortable and supported in their own homes by providing:
- Light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Friendly support and companionship to brighten their day
What you’ll bring
- Strong communication skills and a reliable, professional approach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Orientation Module Certificate and Working with Children Check – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.
- Current driver’s licence, reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance, and a mobile phone
- Basic computer skills for required admin tasks
Bonus points for
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or Community Services
- Experience supporting people who are ageing, living with disability, or experiencing mental illness, including those with specific health needs (e.g. Dementia, Diabetes, Epilepsy) and from diverse cultural backgrounds (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse groups)
