The Role
We have received funding to restore critical habitat, help manage flood risk and empower Traditional Owners to lead restoration outcomes along Bendigo Creek and its tributaries (the Grant).
This project seeks to investigate, design and deliver works and initiatives which support waterway improvements such as erosion control, creek stabilisation and re-naturalisation, water quality improvement via Water Sensitive Urban Design.
In This Two Year Project Role, You Will
* Support the achievement of the grant outcomes through the provision of specialist engineering investigation, scoping and design skills to deliver a suite of waterway restoration projects along the Bendigo Creek and its tributaries
* Undertake investigation, design and implementation of various waterway, water sensitive urban design and stormwater drainage improvement works, proposed for the various sites included within the scope of the grant as well as preparation of template treatments for future applications
* Manage water sensitive urban design and waterway enhancement projects directly linked to the grant through the design and approval phase of their delivery
* Undertake internal and external stakeholder engagement
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer with relevant work history in water sensitive urban design and/or stormwater engineering with the ability to identify and develop innovative solutions. Your skills will also include:
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to ensure projects meet required deadlines, as per the scope and budget
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare quality written documents and undertake technical presentations to a range of audiences
* The ability to gain cooperation and assistance from, and collaborate with, external agencies/entities, members of the public and other employees
* A strong understanding of natural resource/environmental management techniques and solutions in managing waterways
A satisfactory police check, current drivers licence and membership with Engineers Australia is required.
