Overview
The Company is a pioneering Australian climate technology startup seeking a CTO to lead the development and commercialisation of the world's first modular, solar powered Direct Air Capture system to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere. Backed by an Australian group holding company with a strong track record over 15 years and more than 180 projects initiated or supported under the Australian Carbon Credit unit scheme. The Role
Lead engineering strategy and technology development. Demonstrate an innovative and creative mindset to bring new technology to market. This technical lead role is to develop and deploy the innovative new technology to extract CO2 from the atmosphere. Lead and oversee the technical aspects of the business and best practice delivery of Direct Air Capture technologies. The CTO will be involved in stakeholder engagement, engineering oversight, advancing technical design, product development and reporting to achieve significant environmental, social and financial impacts. As a key member of the leadership team, the CTO will contribute to the overall direction and leadership of the company.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and integration of the DAC system components from R&D through integration, testing, and manufacturing scale-up.
* Overseeing product development, engineering optimisation, and technology integration to TRL6+.
* Drive towards large-scale manufacturing of DAC systems.
* Guide the build out of a capital raise–ready technical data room and supporting investor due diligence.
* Recruiting and leading a small, high-impact technical team.
* Managing IP strategy and regulatory compliance.
We're Looking For
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering programs.
* Background in hardware development, clean technology, or process engineering.
* Familiarity with TRL6+ development and technology commercialisation.
* A hands-on, systems thinking leader who thrives in fast-moving environments.
* Passion for climate action and deep tech innovation.
You'll be at the forefront of climate technology, building a first-of-its-kind system to remove CO₂ directly from the air, powered by solar.
