In this role, you'll:
Join our Maritime Asset function as a Maritime Technical Maintenance Officer, where you will provide technical assurance and guidance across maritime assets, including Coastal Infrastructure, Fleet, and Wharves.
You'll work closely with our Maritime Maintenance Delivery team, Operational Asset Assurance (OAA) and other internal divisions such as Customer Information, Operational Technology, and Network Maintenance, acting as a trusted technical advisor, translating asset management plans into practical maintenance requirements.
You will:
* Provide specialist technical expertise across preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned maritime assets
* Investigate and diagnose faults, developing clear and effective maintenance solutions
* Review and validate vendor maintenance methodologies to ensure alignment with standards, TMPs, and ASPs
* Verify completion of contracted works, ensuring quality and compliance outcomes
* Support maintenance delivery teams across Fleet, AtoN, Wharves, and Coastal Infrastructure
* Maintain and update asset documentation in line with TfNSW standards and requirements
* Work closely with Operational Asset Assurance to ensure accurate asset data and documentation integrity
* Maintain awareness of changes to standards, regulations, and legislation
We currently have 3 x Permanent Full Time positions available across each of our asset classes, offering hybrid working options from our Rozelle office. Applications from candidates located in Newcastle, Wollongong and Tweed Heads may also be considered. Please also note that some travel will be required, and hybrid working options may be considered.

About you
You're a technically capable professional who combines engineering expertise with strong communication and commercial awareness.
You bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver outcomes in complex operational environments.
You will demonstrate:
* Experience in the planning, installation, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems
* Strong knowledge of asset management frameworks (e.g. ISO 55000) and lifecycle best practices
* Proven ability to manage maintenance programs with a focus on value for money and performance
* Project management capability, with experience applying frameworks such as PMBoK or similar
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and external partners
* A commitment to safety and safe working behaviours
It is also essential that the successful candidate hold a four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications.
Whilst maritime experience is preferred, we also welcome candidates with broader engineering experience who can bring transferable skills and a strong technical foundation.
