School Profile
Kennington Primary School is located on an expansive 12.1-hectare site in Strathdale, a southeastern suburb of Bendigo, near beautiful native forests.
The site was acquired by the Victorian State Government in **** and, following refurbishment, the school relocated to its current location in ****.
With enrolments now stabilising between approximately 580 and 600 students, the school delivers a high-quality education by maximising available resources and fostering strong partnership with parents.
Selection Criteria
SC1 – Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills; experience responding to student learning needs.
SC2 – Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies guided by student learning, and evaluating their impact on growth.
Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – range 1 and range 2.
The primary focus is on planning, preparation and teaching of programmes to achieve specific student outcomes.
Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills, engaging students and improving their learning.
Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to policy development, and supporting staff to practise high-quality instruction.
Range 1 teachers focus on developing skills to become effective practitioners, receive structured support and mentoring, and may supervise or train student teachers.
Responsibilities
Direct teaching of student groups and individual students.
Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programmes.
Undertaking classroom teaching and organisational duties as directed by the School Principal.
Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
Carrying out supervisory duties and other duties as required.
Who may apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach, or possessing demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s).

Qualification Requirements
Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
If the teacher completed an Australian postgraduate initial teaching programme on or after 1 January ****, a satisfactory completion of a postgraduate accredited initial teacher education programme must be demonstrated.
A Victorian ITE graduate after 1 July **** must have completed the LANTITE requirements.
