What we're looking for
We're seeking a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our perioperative team. This senior nursing role is integral to delivering high‑quality patient care and providing leadership, education, and support across all areas of the perioperative environment.
What you'll be doing
* Providing senior clinical leadership within the perioperative setting
* Supervising and supporting nursing staff across Pre‑Admission, Admission, Anaesthetics, Scrub/Scout, and Recovery
* Delivering direct and indirect patient care aligned with best practice and safety standards
* Offering education, orientation, and ongoing development to Registered and Enrolled Nurses
* Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and accreditation activities
* Assisting with incident management, complaints, and maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations
* Coordinating workflow, addressing clinical issues, and supporting surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
* Participating in budgeting, resource planning, and standing in for the DON when required
About you
* Registered Nurse with current registration and tertiary nursing qualifications
* Perioperative Certificate or 4+ years operating theatre, anaesthetics, or recovery experience
* Advanced knowledge of ANZCA, ACORN, and AS5369 standards
* Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to support change and mentor junior staff
* Strong clinical judgement, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
* Computer literacy and active involvement in professional nursing organisations
* Commitment to continuous professional development and fostering a culture of quality and safety
