About the Client: This role sits within the local subsidiary of a global business with a strong brand in their niche within the consumer goods space. In this ANZ-lead finance role, you’ll manage the finances for multiple brands across the group, reporting directly to the Managing Director. With a team of fewer than 50 in Australia, they operate with the agility of a small business while benefiting from the backing of a well-established international parent. It’s an exciting time to join, as they continue to grow and look to acquire new brands to add to their already strong portfolio. About the Role: This is a pivotal position offering full ownership of the end-to-end finance function. You’ll lead the month-end close, manage payroll and tax compliance across Australia and New Zealand, oversee statutory reporting and group submissions, and take responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll stay close to the detail, own key processes, and ensure accurate and timely reporting at both local and group level. There is a commercial layer to the role too. You’ll work closely with the sales, marketing, and operations teams, providing financial insights, reviewing inventory performance, supporting decision-making, and working with the MD on ad hoc, locally driven projects. While this makes up a smaller portion of the role, your ability to influence beyond the numbers will still be valued. That said, the focus of this role is delivering the core finance function. You’ll also lead and develop a capable team of five, setting standards and supporting them through change and ongoing process improvement. About You: You’re a qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or similar) who’s comfortable working at pace, happy to roll up your sleeves, and confident leading a small team. You’re likely an existing Financial Controller or Head of Finance with experience in the FMCG or Retail sector, ideally within a global subsidiary or multi-entity business. You’ll bring strong foundations in financial control, tax, payroll, and compliance, as well as the ability to build trusted relationships at MD level. Experience with SAP would be advantageous, though not essential.
