We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental illness and promoting their recovery.
About the Role:
You will work 0.6 FTE, providing peer support services to clients, family members, and social networks. Your primary focus will be on delivering mental health programs in a voluntary inpatient unit setting.
* Collaborate with consumers, families, and carers to develop and implement individualized plans.
* Provide guidance and support to help individuals overcome mental health challenges.
* Facilitate group sessions and workshops to promote social connection and community engagement.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A Certificate IV in Peer Work or a related field.
* Experience working with people who have experienced mental illness.
* Strong communication and empathy skills.
* The ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and groups.
