About you

You're someone who enjoys bringing order, coordination and care to complex environments. You're comfortable working across laboratories, facilities teams and external partners, and you take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You have a background in scientific or medical research environments and enjoy being a trusted point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders. Most importantly, you're motivated by supporting high quality research that has real-world impact.

The role

As the Scientific Services Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting laboratories and research teams by coordinating the Institute's scientific services and associated operational processes. Reporting to the Scientific Services Manager, you'll work closely with teams across Operations, Facilities, WHS and BioCORE to ensure equipment, vendors and services are well managed and compliant. Your work will directly contribute to efficient, safe and high‐quality research outcomes at the Institute.

What we will trust you with

* Coordinating scientific services related enquiries and day‐to‐day operational requests from laboratories
* Acting as a liaison for vendors and contractors, including access, inductions and follow up
* Supporting the coordination of equipment servicing, maintenance and repairs
* Maintaining accurate equipment and asset information to support planning and risk management
* Assisting with laboratory consultations, training sessions and user engagement activities
* Identifying process gaps or improvement opportunities impacting laboratory efficiency
* Monitoring and escalating equipment or service‐related risks where required
* Building strong working relationships across the Institute and with external partners

Does this sound like you?

* You hold a bachelor's degree in science or a related field
* At least two years' experience in a medical research or laboratory environment
* Hands on experience in laboratory settings (e.g. molecular biology, tissue culture, radioisotopes)
* Strong understanding OGTR regulatory requirements for PC2 laboratories
* Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once
* Able to communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
* Detail‐oriented, practical and solutions‐focused
* Confident using everyday digital tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
