About NHW
NHW is the major regional health service and specialist referral facility for Northeast Victoria. It serves a population of approximately 102,000, performs over 6,500 procedures a year and has more than 19,000 inpatient episodes, 30,000 Emergency Department attendances, and about 700 births per year. It offers onsite radiology, pathology and blood bank services and a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services, an emergency department, critical care unit (ICU, HDU, CCU), obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, specialised aged care, medical oncology services, community rehabilitation, and inpatient, community, aged and psycho‐geriatric mental health services.
NHW has recently completed a major redevelopment, building a new emergency department, ICU and expanding medical and paediatric units.
Position Overview
The position is to provide anaesthesia and perioperative medical services across a range of surgical specialities and to support the emergency department, intensive care unit and wards. The on‐call commitment is approximately two weekdays and one weekend day per month, and the successful applicant is required to reside within the call‐in range of the health service when on‐call.
There are opportunities to contribute to teaching and training of University of Melbourne medical students, accredited ANZCA registrars, and to participate in international research supported by an active clinical trials and research team.

Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthesia and perioperative medical services across surgical specialities.
* Support the emergency department, intensive care unit and wards.
* Maintain on‐call readiness according to the specified schedule.
* Engage in teaching and training of medical students and registrars.
* Participate in international research initiatives.
Qualifications
* Current Registration with AHPRA as a Specialist.
* Current Fellowship with ANZCA.
