We are seeking a skilled Medical Officer to join our health services team at Acacia Correctional Centre. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to make a positive impact in the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates, while ensuring their safety and security.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care within a multidisciplinary team, referring inmates to external providers when necessary, and taking responsibility for clinical supervision of Nurse Practitioners/Clinical placements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
">
">
">
* Unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA;
">
* A degree in Medicine from a recognised tertiary institution;
">
* Recognition as a Fellow or working towards the same with RACGP;
">
* Current Life Support certification/ALS;
">
* Experience in Primary Care, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Emergency care;
">
* Ability to provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment;
">
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
">
* Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms;
">
* Cultural awareness and the ability to work with diverse populations;
">
">
