Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety
Seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to contribute to the development and implementation of patient safety strategies. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with stakeholders to promote a culture of excellence in healthcare, leveraging their expertise in quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide expert advice on patient safety matters, including risk assessment, incident investigation, and quality improvement initiatives.
* To collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices that improve patient outcomes and reduce harm.
* To facilitate training and education programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare staff in patient safety and quality improvement.
* To participate in quality improvement projects, focusing on areas such as medication safety, infection control, and falls prevention.
* To engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, peer organizations, and industry partners, to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in patient safety.
Requirements:
* Broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health care environment encompassing acute, sub-acute and primary health services; with a demonstrated understanding of patient safety.
* Extensive knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement, patient safety and accreditation processes including risk management, undertaking investigations, National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other accreditation related standards and activities.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders with a demonstrated ability to influence and motivate staff.
