About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include mental health challenges, complex needs and high behaviours. The successful candidates must be able to commit a variety of casual shifts with availability for short notice shifts, sleepovers and shifts in Blue Mountains Areas including Hazelbrook, Wentworth Falls and Springwood. Key Responsibilities Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans Provide assistance with daily personal care tasks and manual handling Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities Maintain thorough record keeping Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues Advocate for client choice and control Skills & Experience Experience working with people with disability Confidence in working with high behaviours Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence A current First Aid and CPR Certificate Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
