Job Opportunity for Visual Art Teacher

The role of a classroom teacher involves planning, preparing and teaching programs that achieve specific student outcomes. We are seeking a skilled Visual Art Teacher who can demonstrate expertise in the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and experience in responding to student learning needs.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing high-impact teaching strategies, monitoring and assessing student learning, and using data to inform teaching practice. They will also be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.

We require a teacher who has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can model exemplary classroom practice. They will be expected to mentor and coach other teachers, provide expert advice on professional learning, supervise and train student teachers, and assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.


Key Responsibilities:

* Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
* Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
* Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
* Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
* Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.


Requirements:

* Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum;
* Experience in responding to student learning needs;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
* Ability to model exemplary classroom practice;
* Experience in mentoring and coaching other teachers;
* Expertise in providing professional learning advice;
* Ability to supervise and train student teachers;
* Capacity to use student data to inform teaching approaches.


Working Conditions:

* This is a part-time position;
* The successful candidate will work in a classroom environment;
* They will be required to participate in school-wide initiatives and activities;
* They will be expected to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
