Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an experienced and passionate Auditor - Clinical Coding to join our dedicated Clinical Coding team, supporting both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to influence coding quality, mentor coders, and drive continuous improvement across the District.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the District Clinical Coding Manager, this Auditor - Clinical Coding role will play a pivotal role in strengthening clinical coding quality and capability across CCLHD. You will design, deliver and evaluate a comprehensive Clinical Coding Audit and Mentorship Program, providing expert advice, education and feedback to support best practice coding and workforce development.
This role combines technical expertise with leadership, education and collaboration, working closely with coders, educators, coordinators, clinicians and managers to ensure coding excellence and accurate clinical data. In this role you will:
? Plan, develop, implement and evaluate a District-wide Clinical Coding Audit Program, including conducting high-quality audits and analysing outcomes to identify improvement and education needs.
? Provide post-audit feedback, training and mentoring to support coder development, maintaining coding competency through ongoing clinical coding practice.
? Prepare comprehensive audit reports, recommendations and submissions, and contribute to benchmarking, KPIs and performance reporting related to coding quality and throughput.
? Maintain accurate audit records and up-to-date audit and education resources, and provide subject matter expertise in the development of assessment and evaluation tools.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
? Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding course or recognised tertiary qualification in Health Information Management and demonstrated expertise in clinical coding, including maintaining ongoing coding competency and a strong commitment to quality, accuracy and best practice.
? Proven experience in clinical coding auditing, analysis and reporting, with the ability to develop recommendations, contribute to KPIs and support benchmarking activities
? Strong capability in education, mentoring and post-audit feedback to support workforce development and continuous improvement in coding practices.
? Experience leading or contributing to quality improvement initiatives, including projects focused on improving medical documentation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
? Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills, with a commitment to peer review and professional development.
