The Geelong City Market, run by Barwon Events, is growing fast and we're on the lookout for motivated, community-minded legends to help us bring the market to life each week.
POSITION 1: Market Site Lead
We're seeking a hands-on, highly organised individual to take the lead on market day operations someone who thrives on early mornings, loves a good checklist, and can bring a team together with calm confidence and a smile.
What you'll do:
* Oversee site set-up, bump-in and bump-out each Saturday
* Manage stallholder placement, operations and logistics
* Liaise with council, traffic management and Barwon Events HQ
* Keep the market running smoothly troubleshooting on the go
* Ensure site safety, cleanliness and community engagement remain top-notch
What we're looking for:
* A positive, proactive attitude
* Communication skills (bonus if you've worked in events or hospitality)
* Comfortable lifting and moving event gear
* Strong time management and the ability to think on your feet
* Availability for early starts on Saturdays and occasional mid-week prep work if
This is a casual position, starting at 1.5 days and can build to more as we build. This is ideal for someone studying events or hospitality, or looking to build a career in community activation and food tourism.
