Responsibilities
* Providing guidance, leadership, technical support and advice within your discipline.
* Managing mechanical engineering team on all projects including multidiscipline and single‑discipline activities.
* Active involvement in project delivery, including performing pipe stress analysis, vessel design, static/rotating equipment design and selection.
* Champion accuracy and efficiency in the production of mechanical and drafting deliverables.
* Lead the development of design deliverables such as mechanical lists, datasheets, piping layouts, isometrics and construction scopes of work.
* Convene 3D model reviews, participate and support HAZID/HAZOP & Risk assessment workshops.
* Preparing and supporting cost estimates, equipment summaries and tender packages.
* Writing and reviewing technical reports as required.
* Developing and supporting FEED and Designs studies including detailed design calculations.
* Undertaking engineering tasks and providing guidance to other engineering disciplines and drafters, including a high level of accuracy and efficiency in accordance with Verbrec standards.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 15 years' experience in the design of piping, pipeline, pressure vessel and tank systems in Oil and Gas Refineries, process plant and pipeline facilities. Pipeline experience (AS2885.1 or ASME B31.4 / B31.8 / B31.11 & B31.12) is not essential but viewed favourably.
* Proven Australian experience in mechanical design including concept development, FEED, detail design and operation phases such as RCA, FFS and integrity management.
* In‑depth knowledge of piping, pressure vessel and tank design and operation codes such as ASME B31.3, AS4041, API 650, ASME VIII and operational codes such as API 579, AS3788 and API 653.
* CPEng and RPEQ (essential).
* Ability to perform engineering tasks with no supervision and mentor the existing team (Principal to Graduates).
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* A strong industry presence and the ability to foster business development opportunities.
* Ability to manage your time and work independently.
