As the Senior Sous Chef at Josef Chromy, you will work side by side with our Head Chef to lead our team in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Josef Chromy Wines hosts one of Tasmania’s premiere winery, award winning restaurant and cellar door operations. Operating a large modern kitchen with lots of great quality, modern equipment. We craft every dish with heart and honesty, using only the best local produce available, from farmers with the best ethical practices. Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role: Assist the Head Chef in the overall management and supervision of the kitchen team Ensure all food preparation and cooking meets food safety and hygiene regulations Contribute to the menu development process and suggest new and innovative dishes Manage and train kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and high-quality service Order and maintain stock levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience What do we need from you Now let’s talk about you: Experience in both Classic and Modern cooking techniques. Experience in Hatted or Michelin starred restaurants is preferred, as we have high expectations of our product. Able to hold down a section of the busy kitchen. Sound organisational ability. Strong attention to detail. Willing and motivated to mentor and teach our other team members. The benefits are good too!
