As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Industrial Designer to bring fresh ideas, creative problem-solving, and technical expertise to our product development team.
The Role
As an Industrial Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of new and existing products that enhance workplace safety. Collaborating with engineers, production team members, and management, you will take concepts from idea to reality, ensuring our products are functional, durable, and aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop innovative, user-focused designs for safety equipment and related products.
* Creation of 3D models, engineering grade drawings, and specifications.
* Assist with the design and development of height safety, lifting, and load control products.
* Active problem solving for customers with unique problem statements.
* Rapid development of solutions.
* Work closely with technical, sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing, within SpanSet Australia and SpanSet Global.
* Ensure designs align with compliance standards and manufacturing capabilities.
* Stay up to date with materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* Advanced level CAD skills.
* 3+ years professional experience in SolidWorks.
* Demonstrated proficiency in the creation of engineering grade technical drawings and specifications.
* Parametric approach to CAD modelling.
* Ideally, experience in manufacturing or global product development.
* Someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work autonomously, with excellent planning and time management skills.
