Primary objective
Support the development, coordination and administration of governance processes for Department of Health Clinical Information
Systems, including Acacia. Provide operational and secretariat support to governance committees, assist with stakeholder engagement,
and contribute to the effective implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks under the direction of the Director.
Context statement
The Office of the Chief Clinical Information Officer - OCCIO plays a critical role in ensuring that Department of Health's digital systems,
including Acacia and legacy systems, are governed effectively, support clinical practice, and align with Department of Health's strategic
goals. This role supports the transition of the Acacia system from project to business-as-usual and ensures governance activities are well-
documented, inclusive, and responsive to evolving priorities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide administrative and secretariat support for clinical information systems governance committees and working groups.
2. Maintain governance documentation including agendas, minutes, terms of reference, action registers, and other records.
3. Support implementation and updates of governance policies, procedures, and version control processes under guidance.
4. Assist with stakeholder engagement and coordination of end-user consultation, ensuring inclusive and timely input into governance
processes.
5. Collate and distribute communications, updates, and reports related to clinical information system governance activities.
6. Assist in maintaining reporting and monitoring tools for issues, defects, and governance performance indicators.
7. Build and maintain productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders including clinicians, ICT teams, and project staff.
8. Promote the use of human-centred design principles in supporting governance activities and end-user feedback.
9. Contribute to the ongoing improvement and maturity of governance processes by identifying issues and suggesting improvements.
10. Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in administrative coordination or governance support within a health, ICT, or public sector setting.
2. Sound understanding of governance practices and processes, including documentation, secretariat support and stakeholder liaison.
3. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly summarise technical and procedural
information for diverse audiences.
4. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
6. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems for documentation and coordination.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates NT Health values of being Safe, Responsive and Kind.
Desirable
1. Qualifications or training in public administration, information management, ICT governance, or health administration.
2. Familiarity with NT Health systems, structures, and policies.
