This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior advisory role where your expertise will drive workplace health and safety excellence across a diverse and dynamic operational environment.The RoleAs the Principal WHS Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of workplace health and safety initiatives across the region. This includes providing expert guidance, driving continuous improvement in safety systems, and managing a team of safety professionals in a high-risk, field-based environment.Working within a multidisciplinary team, your knowledge will directly influence the safety of operations in both the office and field, particularly in building, construction, and maintenance services.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a regional WHS team, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and legislative requirements.Lead the investigation of incident and hazard investigations, producing reporting as requiredProvide high-level WHS&E advice to operational and senior management.Coordinate and deliver WHS training sessions and oversee regional training registers.Conduct and oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations.Manage WHS compliance for both internal staff and external contractors.Lead development of safety management plans, risk assessments, and related systems.Report on health and safety KPIs and support staff rehabilitation efforts.Review Environmental and Safety Management System procedures and make recommendations for improvement.Manage the offices and depot to ensure emergency planning and response activities are completed.About YouYou're a confident communicator and collaborative leader with:Demonstrated experience in WHS, ideally within construction or government environments.Strong understanding of relevant WHS legislation, compliance, and best practices.Proven ability to manage teams, mentor staff, and influence positive safety outcomes.Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety.Experience within construction or maintenance-focused organisations is highly desirable.ApplyTo be considered for this position, please apply below with your cv and cover letter in Microsoft word format.
