The Engineer II – Research and Development plays a critical role in driving innovation and improvement across our business. This position focuses on developing design documentation and test methods to verify product compliance with international standards and established company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development: Design and develop new or improved products, systems, and process components.
2. Process Specifications: Develop process specifications for new products and improved processes/products, ensuring accurate completion of required documentation to ensure transition of processes and design from R&D to manufacturing.
3. Prototyping and Testing: Prepare prototyping lines and prototypes of products, perform laboratory tests at site in cooperation with Quality Management.
4. Documentation and Communication: Ensure that design documentation is prepared according to required standards and established company procedures, perform good and seamless communication with Global T&I, Global Marketing, Global and local Quality, Regulatory and Clinical, as well as functions in Global and Local Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
5. Risk Assessment and Compliance: Participate in Risk Assessments, ensure compliance with legislative and internal requirements of the EHS, and participate in the fulfillment of the company's targets in the EHS area.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Product Remediation: Develop Product design Inputs/Outputs, perform Product design verification, perform Product design validation, perform Final Design Review, and perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Requirements and Qualifications:

* Analytical Skills and Technical Knowledge: Good analytical skills and technical knowledge in product development and especially in design, materials, and processes.
* Computer Systems and Software: Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel, Minitab (or equivalent), and Solidworks (AutoCAD).
* Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively in English, work independently, and be a team player, able to work cooperatively with other departments to achieve results.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience and Education: Bachelor of science in Engineering, Plastic, Mechanical, or related field, experience within product/process development, and experience in product and/or process development in a highly regulated area such as Medical products, Pharmaceuticals, Food.

Training Requirements:

* Introduction Training: Introduction training for administrative employees.
* Quality System Documents: Quality System documents and procedures relevant to all employees, including regular re-training when required.

Travel Requirements: Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected (variable and project-related).

Languages: Speaking: Yes English*; Writing/Reading: Yes English* (*additional languages as required or nice to have).

Working Conditions: Office-based position with home office possibilities based on the local home office policy. Flexible working hours.

Special Factors: Supporting manufacturing trials may require working atypical hours, across multiple shifts, on weekends, or on holidays.
