We're currently seeking a Junior Heavy Lift & Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in East Rockingham, supporting complex crane and heavy lift projects across Western Australia and beyond.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent early‑career opportunity for a graduate or junior engineer looking to build hands‑on experience in the heavy lift industry.
In this pivotal support role, you will work closely with senior engineers, project teams, and operations to assist with lift planning, engineering documentation, site engagement, and live project execution, all while developing your technical and commercial capability within a safety‑first environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing crane lift plans and AutoCAD drawings under guidance from senior engineers.
* Support the development of lift studies, engineering documentation, and technical reports.
* Help ensure lift plans comply with industry standards, legislation, and Boom Safety Standards.
* Provide support with document control, field engineering, and contract administration.
* Attend site visits to observe lifting activities and support quality assurance.
* Collaborate with engineering, tendering, contracts, and operations teams.
* Build professional relationships with clients and represent Boom Logistics on site.
* Support safety audits, site assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You'll bring a strong learning mindset, attention to detail, and an interest in heavy lift and crane engineering.
You will have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering or similar.
* Understanding of fundamental engineering principles (mechanics & structures).
* CAD experience (AutoCAD, Microstation or similar).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
* A current Australian Driver's Licence.
* Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Exposure to construction, lifting, or heavy industry environments.
* Experience working in multi‑disciplinary project teams.
